This is a video about the Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative. Thank you Jessie Tobin and Tim Vargo for starring in this video.
This is the Martin Drive Neighborhood on Milwaukee's west side after the February 1-2, 2011, blizzard. Neighbors have been helping each other all day, sharing their snowblowers, helping with sidewalks and driveways. Pictured is North 43rd Street. Thank you everyone for helping out.
Mike Schubert talked with neighbors about the Healthy Neighborhood Initiative, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and how they help Martin Drive. The neighborhood is working on "Going Deeper", answering how can the neighborhood be even better with our events and projects; while letting more people outside the neighborhood know about it.

Hear a quick history of Washington Park - Urban Ecology Center.
The Martin Drive Neighborhood Association sponsored the annual neighborhood-wide rummage sale. The neighborhood has several events to build a community among neighbors. For example annual events include an outdoor movie, summer picnic, curb appeal projects, a Sunday Farmers' market, decorating trees with red bows in winter, night time trick and treating and a holiday party.

This year, the rummage sale took an additional meaning as neighbors wanted to show how being a tight nit community can help solve problems.

Holiday Caroling & Warm Up Potluck Party
Neighbors have an annual tradition of singing carols in the neighborhood and meeting afterwards at a house for a holiday warm up potluck party. We have traditions like this throughout the year.
